first impressions

still coming to grips with the 770 - spending a lot of time searching for useful software that doesnt require a degree in linux to get it working - the 770 seems aimed at the early adaptor, someone who is comfortable with linux and its inner workings. i am not, so i find some things i want to get running will require a little work / advice from more knowledgeable friends.

i use last.fm a lot for my music - i listen from itunes at home, and from the last.fm application in work, now i want to be able to access my last.fm profile to listen to those songs whenever there is an open wifi network nearby. a thread on the last fm site shows the level of work involved to get it working. the end user must do his / her own compiling to get it working. (application link)

getting movies to work on the 770 too involves a little bit of work. a media converter by urho konttori allows one to take movie files and optimise them for the 770. one interesting application that will be released in a few days (november 29th) is canola - one of those fancy looking applications that uses the tablet to its full. pretty is nice. (something similar is media streamer)

one final thing is the photos i took of the event on thursday night: 2006.11.23 junkspace = my space
